The institute is running
the four-year bachelor's degree programme in computer science
(BCS) in affiliation with the Sir Syed University of Engineering
and Technology, Karachi .The curriculum of the programme is
the same as is recognized and approved by the University grants
commission for the BCS degree of other Universities of Pakistan.
The courses and examination are conducted under close supervision
of Sir Syed University of Engineering and Technology, which
will award the degree also after successful completion of
the course.
The Aligarh Institute of Technology (AIT), established in
1989, is located on Plot ST-16, measuring 8 acres, on the
University Road, Opposite Aziz Bhatti Park in Block 5, Gulshan-e-lqbal
Karachi. It is planned to be a big Polytechnic for boys and
girls to provide, in phases, theoretical and practical courses
of instructions in a number of technologies leading to the
Diploma of Associate Engineers (DAE) of the Sindh Board of
Technical Education. The courses in Electronics Technology
and Computer Science were started in 1989. The course in Secretarial
Technology was introduced from the session beginning from
July 1991. A Certificate course of Proficiency in World Processing
was introduced in the session 1995. The Association has been
making consistent effort to assess the futuristic needs of
Technical Education in Pakistan. Sir Syed University of Engineering
& Technology accorded affiliation to our 3 year degree
programme in Computer Science and BCS classes were started
in April 1998. A Diploma course in Information Technology
and another Diploma course in office Management are being
started from the current academic year. Expansion and development
of the Institute continues. |
