Sir Syed University of Engineering & Technology (SSUET) has the distinction of being the first engineering university that was established in the private sector in Pakistan. SSUET has ably shared the burden of government and reinforces efforts of government towards the social sector and education in particular.

SSUET has been awarded No. 1 University rank amongst the Private Engineering Universities of Sindh by Chartered Inspection and Evaluation Committee (CIEC Sindh) in the discipline of Engineering and Technology in the private sector. SSUET has also been ranked with “W” highest category by Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan for its excellent performance.

The alumni of Aligarh Muslim University Old Boys’ Association had a unique idea. Inspired by their alma mater AMUOBA decided to establish a university named after Sir Syed Ahmad Khan.

Based on the philosophy of Sir Syed Ahmad Khan and to implement his thoughts and vision in the real world for the benefit of youth and to be part of national development measures. In this way, Sir Syed University of Engineering and Technology is the legacy of Sir Syed Ahmad Khan, the great educationist, and social reformer. Sir Syed’s message is as relevant today as it was a hundred and fifty years ago when he said:

“The basis of all (progress) is that you should bring all treasures of knowledge under your control”

Sir Syed University of Engineering and Technology is a reputed university as a seat of learning on account of its rich cultural traditions, values, and accessible opportunities being provided to a multitude of our youth from all over the country for attaining quality education at an affordable cost.

Sir Syed University of Engineering & Technology has successfully maintained a balance between the modern trends in education and its traditions, social norms and above all the Aligarh Spirit.

SSUET provides a rich cultural heritage and accessible opportunities for attaining quality education at an affordable cost.

At its inception in 1994, SSUET started with two-degree programs, the University has since grown manifold and evolved as an institution and has become an academic icon, an inspirational and motivating force that has now grown to eighteen undergraduate, seven graduate, and three doctorate programs ranging from science, engineering, technology, and business programs.

University comprises nearly 6,000 students and over 400 learned and dedicated faculty members. With almost twenty thousand graduates of this august institution working in different positions & fields globally.

Sir Syed University of Engineering & Technology has completed 25 years of its establishment. The University marked this landmark event, celebrating its Silver Jubilee in a befitting manner.

The Silver Jubilee Celebrations started with Sir Syed Ahmad Khan Center of Excellence – Cyber Security Week afterward a wide range of academic programs, conferences, seminars, workshops, symposiums, job fairs, declamation contests, and a sports gala was held. The SSUET Silver Jubilee celebrations spanned throughout the month of December 2019 that ended with the Grand Awards Night.

The SSUET Silver Jubilee celebrations also coincided with the 15th Build Asia Conference and SSUET played a vital role in this conference as a “Knowledge Partner”.

Sir Syed University and Engineering & Technology has provided state of the art laboratories, a suitable environment to promote academic and co-curricular activities. Students have ample opportunity to learn and gain knowledge in various disciplines and have access to the latest technologies. SSUET intends to expand and upgrade infrastructure that includes a central library complex and auditorium in the near future.

As a progressive and ever-growing institution SSUET has introduced three new non–engineering programs:

1) BS in Mathematics 2) BS in Mobile Communication & Security 3) BS in Bio-Medical Sciences

Sir Syed University of Engineering & Technology firmly believes that no student to be deprived of education due to financial limitations. To overcome the issue, SSUET offers scholarships to students on merit basis depending upon their academic performance, attendance. Besides financial assistance is given to deserving and needy students.

The faculty is the mainstay of the University, they are capable, competent, and distinguished in their respective fields. The members of the faculty are also capable of transferring the University’s vision and mission to the students.

Sir Syed University’s mission is youth-centric with a particular focus on students as agents of change.

The University pursues Sir Syed Ahmad Khan’s progressive thinking in real earnest and develops research and design programs that focus on improving students’ and critical thinking while utilizing their energies. To purse mission of Sir Syed Ahmad Khan, SSUET has established Sir Syed Ahmad Khan Youth Centre associating parents and families of students as a team to motivate them towards the development of their moral values, ethics, and communication skills.

Every year nearly 10 million new job seekers turnout from educational institutions and other places enter the job market. But, the job market has its limitations and constraints and little scope for absorption. With less than 25% retiring it is expected that there will be an increase in unemployment that increases exponentially every year.

The solution to this critical situation of global recession and economic decline lies in entrepreneurship. With this in mind, SSUET has instituted ORIC, with the mandate is to establish a research, innovation, and commercialization center to promote and support different researchers/students/entrepreneurs for

knowledge and technology transfer under an umbrella for different startup companies and transform their technology-based business idea into reality thus improving the economy of the country and helping in job creation.

The importance of quality education for the socio-economic development of any country and nation cannot be over-emphasized. In addition to character building, education helps create the human capital necessary for research, innovation, growth, and national development. Moreover, inclusive and uniform access to higher education is also of pivotal importance to lead the country on the path of economic and technological development.

In the light of prevailing circumstances due to the COVID-19 Pandemic and as follow up, there was a complete lockdown. The on-campus classes and laboratory work were suspended with effect from last week of February 2020. SSUET continued its pursuit of education by going online. Classes and examinations were successfully conducted online for the first time in the history of the University. The approach adopted for online classes through the off-campus facilities was in accordance with the HEC Policy for the COVID-19 Pandemic.

As this Century gradually approaches its end, it leaves behind a series of challenges that mankind has to face like saving our environment and earth, poverty alleviation, steadying up the rapid pace of population growth, sustainable lifestyle, preventing terrorism and wars, cultural creativity, expanding human potential and advancement in science, engineering, technology, these areas would facilitate us to move towards the next Century.

The great leader Nelson Mandala once said that “Education is the most powerful weapon that you can use to change the world.”

Sir Syed University of Engineering & Technology welcomes you, the Batch 2020-21 as a part of the Sir Syed fraternity to learn and to use that learning to serve their community and society as a whole.

We expect you to utilize your time effectively in a productive manner, utilizing facilities and the incentives offered by in SSUET to gain knowledge and attain academic prominence.

We hope that the Batch 2020-21 will have an enjoyable, and enlightening educational exposure as well as experience at SSUET.
