KARACHI, March 14, 2023 – Sir Syed University of Engineering & Technology (SSUET), organized its 26th Convocation with traditional zeal that was attended by a large number of educationists, scholars, dignitaries including faculty and students. Governor Sindh, Mr. Muhammad Kamran Tessori was the Chief Guest of the event and Guests of Honor included Former Federal Interior Minister Lt. General (r) Moinuddin Haider and noted businessman Sardar Yasin Malik. On this memorable occasion around more than 1000 degrees were awarded to the pass-outs of BS and MS programme including PhD. Position holders were awarded with gold, silver and bronze medals for securing highest marks in the respective disciplines.
Addressing the convocation, Governor Sindh, Mr. Muhammad Kamran Tessori said that this is an era of software based digital applications and emerging technologies. We are living in an environment where only knowledge and skills matter. Job situation is unpredictable and highly competitive. My advice to graduates is to keep updating their knowledge and skills throughout their career and get themselves prepared to cope with emerging technologies and advancements taking place in various fields and accept challenges boldly.
He urged women not to restrict the position-holder girls to domestic chores as their daughter-in-law and let them continue with their skill-based professional career.
He said, “To serve the mankind authority is not needed but the character and will to do. Our leaders did not show us the direction. We are devoid of basic amenities, although we have sea in the city but no water. We got to be good human beings.”
Governor Kamran Khan Tessori said that the university management has long period of proven track of successful development, the will, determination, and potential to bring change in university according to the dynamics of the environment. University has capacity for change.
Addressing the 26th Convocation of Sir Syed University, Chancellor Jawaid Anwar said that the Convocation is culmination of your tireless efforts with feeling of accomplishment in life. It is glorious occasion to cherish. It is a moment to rejoice an important landmark that gives recognition to the efforts, support and sacrifices of your parents, guardians, whether in the form of devotion of time and energy for your studies or financing studies or accumulation of responsibilities in your journey in pursuit of education.
He said that Sir Syed University is undoubtedly a distinguished university that was established on the vision of the great visionary Sir Syed Ahmed Khan and it carries forward his legacy of education and social reform to create a peaceful and progressive society. Sir Syed University signifies a new strategic direction in comprehensive education where it broadens perspectives, builds diverse connections and encourages innovation and ideas across borders.
Chancellor Jawaid Anwar said that the youth is now approaching software based digital applications that provide them easy employment and take them to entrepreneurship. Role of universities is not limited to awarding degrees to the students, but it is their duty to link them to the industries and economical activities. Sir Syed University turn out world class graduates able to compete in the market and cope field challenges. Our graduates have already stepped into job markets not only inside country but also in outside world.
Appreciating the efforts made by the graduates for achieving the honour, Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Vali Uddin said that the innovation and emerging technologies together can open up new vistas of development and prosperity for Pakistan. Sir Syed University has always endeavored to be progressive, responsive to advancement in science, engineering and technology or business management. Today there is more focus on innovation and research. It is now necessary to figure out the new demands according to the global changes, and to update the students with new academic environment.
Presenting the progress report of Sir Syed University, Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Vali Uddin, said that Sir Syed University, sponsored by AMUOBA, embodies Sir Syed Ahmed Khan’s philosophy and has grown from 2 departments and 200 students in 1994 to 12 departments offering undergraduate, postgraduate, MS, and PhD programs with 6,263 students and 391 faculty members, including 63 holding PhDs. The teacher-student ratio of 16:1 meets accreditation council criteria. Since its inception, Sir Syed University of Engineering and Technology has produced over 20,000 highly skilled and competent graduates, who have made significant contributions to both the local and global job market.
He said that the University has signed 88 MoUs since 2016, with 58 still active. These agreements aim to enhance academic excellence and diversify research efforts by exchanging knowledge and skills. The MoUs were with national and foreign institutions, including Spain, China, Turkey, Indonesia, Azerbaijan, and Syria. Over the course of the past year, a total of 101 research papers were published in prestigious research journals.
Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Vali Uddin said that Sir Syed University of Engineering and Technology has made significant strides and received several prestigious awards in recognition of its outstanding achievements. The university has been awarded the Best Engineering University and the Brand of the Year Award, while the Vice Chancellor has been recognized for his exceptional leadership and management skills. Sir Syed University has also established valuable partnerships with overseas universities such as the University of Malaga in Spain and the University of Sofia in Bulgaria, facilitating the exchange of knowledge and expertise across different academic and cultural domains.

Three undergraduate degree programme in Clinical Psychology, Cyber Security and Food Science & Technology, as well as two postgraduate programme in Civil Engineering and Mathematics have been inducted.
ORIC hosted an event for final year students to showcase their innovation, selecting 100 projects out of 200 for exhibition and shortlisted 20 for the Silicon Valley.
The construction of the Ground plus 10-floor block for Administration, Library & Research is a major development initiative of Sir Syed University of Engineering and Technology. The new block will be a state-of-the-art facility, designed to meet the needs of modern education and research.

سرسید یونیورسٹی کے چھبیسویں کانووکیشن کے موقع پر 1100 سے زائدطلباء و طالبات کو ڈگریاں تفویض کی گئیں۔
کراچی، 14/مارچ،2023ء۔۔ سرسید یونیورسٹی آف انجینئرنگ اینڈ ٹیکنالوجی کا چھبیسواں کانووکیشن روایتی جوش و جذبے سے منایا گیا جس میں مختلف مکاتبِ فکر سے تعلق رکھنے والی اعلیٰ علمی شخصیات کے علاوہ معززین، فیکلٹی و طلباء کی ایک کثیر تعداد نے شرکت کی۔تقریب کے مہمانِ خصوصی صوبہ سندھ کے گورنر محترم محمد کامران خان ٹیسوری، جبکہ مہمانِ اعزازی سابق وفاقی وزیرِ داخلہ، لیفٹنٹ جنرل (ر) معین الدین حیدر اورممتاز بزنس مین سردار یاسین ملک تھے۔اس موقع پر تقریبا ایک ہزار سے زائدطلباء و طالبات کو ڈگریاں تفویض کی گئیں اور امتیازی نمبروں سے اول، دوئم اور سوئم پوزیشن حاصل کرنے والے طلباء و طالبات میں بالترتیب طلائی، چاندی اور کانسی کے تمغے تقسیم کئے گئے۔
سرسید یونیورسٹی کے چھبیسویں کانووکیشن سے خطاب کرتے ہوئے گورنر کامران خان ٹیسوری نے کہا کہعصرِ حاضر سافٹ ویئر پر مبنی ڈیجیٹل ایپلی کیشن اور ابھرتی ہوئی ٹیکنالوجیز کا دور ہے۔۔موجودہ ماحول میں صرف علم اور ہنر کی اہمیت ہے۔روزگار کے مواقع محدود اور غیر متوقع ہیں۔اس لیے ضروری ہے کہ گریجویٹس انٹرپرینورشپ کو ترجیح دیں اور اپنے علم و ہنر کو مستقل اپ ڈیٹ کرتے رہیں اور عصر حاضر کی ابھرتی ہوئی ٹیکنالوجیز سے اپنے آپ کو ہم آہنگرکھیں۔ چیلنجزبہت ہیں، مگر جیت اسی کی ہے جو ان سے نمٹنا بخوبی جانتا ہوں۔بلاشبہ سرسید یونیورسٹی کی کامیابی اور ترقی کی ایک طویل فہرست ہے اور جامعہ نے تیزی سے بدلتے ماحول کے مطابق ناگزیر تبدیلیوں سے اپنی ساکھ اور کارکردگی کے اعلیٰ معیار کو برقرار رکھا ہو اہے۔
گورنر سندھ کامران خان ٹیسوری نے کہا کہ ہمارے رہنماؤں نے عوام کو کوئی سمت نہیں دی۔۔ہم سب کچھ بن گئے مگر ایک اچھا انسان نہیں بن سکے۔شہر میں سمندر تو ہے مگر پانی نہیں ہے۔نہ بجلی ہے اور نہ گیس۔
اس یادگار موقع پر خطاب کرتے ہوئے سرسید یونیورسٹی کے چانسلر جاوید انوار نے کہا کہکانوکیشن، کامیابی کے حصول کے لیے کی جانے والی آپ کی انتھک محنت اور لگن کا نتیجہ ہے۔یہ بڑی خوشی کا لمحہ ہے۔اور اپنے والدین اور اساتذہ کی قربانیوں اور رہنمائی کو یاد کرنے کا بھی لمحہ ہے۔۔آپ اپنی کامیابی کی خوشی کابھرپور جشن منانے کے حقدار ہیں۔یہ آپ کی زندگی کا ایک اہم سنگ میل ہے۔ تعلیمی نظامِ میں بہت بڑی تبدیلی آئی ہے اور نوجوانوں کا رجحان سافٹ ویئر پر مبنی ڈیجیٹل ایپلیکیشنز کی طرف بڑھ رہا ہے جو ان کے لیے ملازمت کے حصول کو آسان بنا رہا ہے۔اکیسویں صدی میں ڈیجیٹل ٹیکنالوجی ہماری ضرورت بن چکی ہے۔اب ہمارے نوجوان گھر بیٹھے کاروبارچلارہے ہیں۔
انھوں نے کہا کہ اب جامعات کا کام طلباء کو صرف ڈگری دینے تک محدود نہیں رہا بلکہ طلباء کو صنعت اور معیشت سے جوڑنے کی ذمہ داری بھی جامعات پر عائد ہوتی ہے۔ سرسید یونیورسٹی عالمی معیار کے گریجوٹس تیار کررہی ہے جو نہ صرف اپنے ملک میں بلکہ عالمی سطح پر بھی اپنا نام اور مقام بنارہے ہیں اور اپنی مادرِ علمی کا نام روشن کر رہے ہیں۔
سرسید یونیورسٹی کے چانسلر جاوید انوار نے کہا کہطلباء کی قابلیت اور مہارت نہ صرف انکی ترقی کا باعث بنتی ہے بلکہ ملک اور قوم کی بہتری اور خوشحالی کا سبب بھی بنتی ہے۔زندہ قومیں اپنی تاریخ پر عمارت کھڑی کرتی ہیں اور اپنے اسلاف کے ورثے سے استفادہ کرتے ہوئے مستقبل کو بہتر بناتی ہیں۔سرسید احمد خان برصغیر میں مسلم نشاۃ ثانیہ کے بہت بڑے علمبردار تھے۔سرسید کے نظام تعلیم میں شخصیت سازی اور تربیت کومرکزی حیثیت حاصل تھی۔کسی بھی ملک کا شاندار مستقبل ایک تربیت شدہ تعلیم یافتہ قوم سے منسلک ہے۔قومی تعمیر نو کے لیے آج ہمیں ایسے ہی تربیتی اور تعلیمی نظام کی ضرورت ہے جو نوجوانوں کو بہترین صفات سے مرصع کرے۔
طلباء کو مخاطب کرتے ہوئے وائس چانسلر پروفیسر ڈاکٹرولی الدین نے کہا کہ آج کا دن آپ کے لیے ایک یادگاردن ہے اور آپ کی زندگی کے سفر میں ایک اہم سنگِ میل رکھتا ہے۔ اب آپ عملی زندگی کے دشوارگزار راستے پر قدم رکھنے جارہے ہیں جہاں آپ کو لاتعداد چیلنجز کا سامنا کرنا ہوگا جن سے نمٹنے کے لیے آپ کی قابلیت اور مہارت کام آئے گی اورتجربات سے آپ بہت کچھ سیکھیں گے۔
اس موقع پر سرسید یونیورسٹی کی گزشتہ سال کی کارکردگی پر مبنیرپورٹ پیش کرتے ہوئے انھوں نے کہا کہ آج، چھبیسویں کانو کیشن میں 1000 سے زائد ڈگریاں تفویض کی گئیں۔۔انھوں نے بتایا کہ 1994 میں دو شعبہ جات اور دو سو طلباء سے آغاز کرنے والی سرسید یونیورسٹی میں آج شعبہ جات میں تقریباََ 6,263 طلباء اور 391فیکلٹی ممبران کے ساتھ گریجویٹ، پوسٹ گریجویٹ اور پی ایچ ڈی پروگرام چل رہے ہیں۔استاد اور طالب علم کا تناسب16:1 ہے جو ایکریڈیٹیشن کونسل کے معیار کے مطابقہے۔سرسید یونیورسٹی سے اب تک 20,000 سے زائد ہنرمنداور قابل گریجویٹس فارغ التحصیل ہوچکے ہیں جو قومی اور بین الاقوام اداروں میں اپنی صلاحیتوں ک جوہر دکھا رہے ہیں۔
انھوں نے بتایا کہ 2016 سے اب تک سرسید یونیورسٹی مختلف اداروں کے ساتھ 88 مفاہمتی یادداشتوں پر دستخط کر چکی ہے جن کا مقصد علم اور مہارت کے تبادلے کے ذریعے علمی استعداد کر بڑھانا ہے۔سرسید یونیورسٹی نے جن ممالک کے ساتھ معاہدے کئے ہیں ان میں اسپین، چین، ترکی، انڈونیشیا، آزربائیجان اور شام کیشاملہے۔گزشتہ سال ممتاز قومی و بین الاقوامی ریسرچ جرنلز میں سرسید یونیورسٹی کی فیکلٹی کے تقریباََ 101 تحقیقی مقالے شائع ہوچکے ہیں۔
پروفیسر ڈاکٹر ولی الدین نے بتایا کہ سرسید یونیورسٹی نے اپنی شاندار خدمات کے اعتراف میں ’برانڈ آف دی ائیر‘ اور اور بہترین انجینئرنگ یونیورسٹی کے ایوارڈز حاصل کئے۔اسپین کی مالاگا یونیورسٹی اور بلغاریہ کی صوفیہ یونیورسٹی کے ساتھ بھی شراکت داری قائم کی ہے جو مختلف علمی اور ثقافتی شعبوں میں علم اور مہارت کے تبادلے کو فروغ دے گی۔سرسید یونیورسٹی میں تین نئے شعبہ جات متعارف کرائے گئے جن میں کلینکل سائیکالوجی، سائبر سیکوریٹی اور فوڈ سائنس اینڈ ٹیکنالوجی شامل ہیں بشمول سول انجینئرنگ اور ریاضی کے دو پوسٹ گریجویٹ پروگرام۔نئے کیمپس میں ڈرپ اریگیشن کے لئے سولر پینل لگائے گئے ہیں اور مسجد کا کنواں اور مسجد کے سولر پینل دونوں پوری طرح فعال ہیں۔
اورک فائنل ایئر کے طلباء کے لیے شعبہ اورک نے پروجیکٹ کی نمائش کا اہتمام کیا اور 200 پروجیکٹس میں سے 100پروجیکٹس کا نمائش کے لیے انتخاب کیا اور اس میں 20 پروجیکٹس کو سیلیکون ویلی کے لیے منتخب کیا۔ایڈمنسٹریشن، لائبریری اور ریسرچ کے لیے گیارہ منزلہ بلاک کی تعمیر کا سنگِ بنیاد رکھ دیاگیا ہے۔یہ ایک بہت بڑا ترقیاتی کام ہے اور یہ نیا بلاک جدید تعلیم و تحقیقی کی ضروریات کو پورا کرنے کے لیے
ڈایزئن کیا گیا ہے۔
رجسٹرار سید سرفراز علی نے کانوکیشن کی تقریب کی نظامت کے فرائض ادا کرتے ہوئے کہا کہ ہمارا مقصد سرسیدیونیورسٹی کو عالمی پایہ کی ایک بہترین یونیورسٹی بنانا ہے۔ ہماری جامعہ طلباء کی تعلیم اور تربیت کو مرکزی حیثیت دیتی ہے اور انداز میں ان کو پروان چڑھاتی ہے کہ وہ معاشرے کی بہتری اور ترقی میں اپنا بھرپورکردار ادا کرسکیں۔اعلیٰ تعلیم معاشی ترقی اور خوشحالی کی ضامن ہے۔شخصیت سازی سے ایک بہترین معاشرہ تشکیل دیا جاسکتا ہے اوررویوں کی درستگی معاشرے میں مثبت رجحانات کو فروغ دینے میں کلیدی کردار ادا کرتی ہے۔
