FICS [Finding Innovation and creative solution] is an important component of NUST’s overarching goal to bring about a positive, discernible impact in the society by applying scientific knowledge and tools. It has been structured as a 3-stage competition and requires participating teams to utilize their technical expertise and skills in developing projects (products & services) that can help the communities around them. The objective of FICS is to encourage students to identify social problems around them and to develop innovative technology-based solutions to these problems. It aims to encourage Social Entrepreneurship among students, and to involve the industry as mentors and judges in order to help the best projects to be commercialized.
ORIC-SSUET is ecstatic to announce that 14 trailblazing projects from Sir Syed University of Engineering and Technology (SSUET) have made the cut for the final round of the prestigious Finding Innovative and Creative Solutions (FICS) ’24 competition at NUST!

FICS’24 competition divided into 3 stages Stage 1, Stage2 and Stage 3 /Final stage
Stage 1: In this stage students evaluated by different rubrics and initial stage their projects description is thoroughly evaluated by experts, From SSUET 50 projects selected of different departments and luckily all 50 selected in FICS’24 Stage 1.
Stage 2: It was organized by NUST Karachi from SSUET 50 Projects only 27 projects registered for Stage 2 all were present well front of Industrialist, IT Experts and Business Icon. After student’s presentations Question Answer session were started and after strict marking 14 projects qualify Stage 2 and ready to endeavor Stage 3. Stage 3 will be held on July 2024.
