In the history of SSUET, 1st-time students initiate Iftaar distribution on 1st May 2021 on “International Workers Day” under the supervision of Engr. M. Yasir Zaheen (Senior Lecturer, CED). During online classes, students were motivated to do welfare work and spread positivity around them. Motivated students of 3rd Semester of Computer Engineering Department took initiative and gathered at Sir Syed University on 1st May at 4 pm in front of A Block. Chairman Computer Engineering Department Dr. Shakeel Ahmed also motivated faculty members of CED to take part in this event. Faculty members and university officials also join hands in distributing the Iftaar boxes outside the university gate.
After the first Iftaar drive successful completion, other students and faculty members also got motivated. 2nd Iftaar drive was spread to the whole university with the approval of the honorable Vice Chancellor Dr. Vali Uddin. 2nd Iftaar drive was organized on 27th Ramadan i.e 10th May 2021. Faculty members and the chairman of CED also took part in Iftaar distribution physically and appreciate M. Yasir Zaheen and his students for arranging such a big event. On the instruction of the Registrar, CSO sends security guards with students in the societies near Sir Syed University for the distribution of 350 Iftaar boxes.
