One of SSUET’s brilliant and multitalented students from the Electronic Engineering Department, batch 2011, Ussama Zaffar’s research was published by the national TV of Italy as the top 100 innovative international researchers. His research is about discovering or rediscovering, the forest and its knowledge, showing that drones and wireless sensors are not always necessary. Sometimes you just need to take off your shoes and socks.
The idea is to integrate sensors, create these sensors in such a way that they behave exactly like, truffles. They will suffer the consequences of any variations in the surrounding environment and therefore they will measure them.
Sharing his experience, Ussama Zaffar said, “Now we are working with iXum labs, where we are trying to improve the experience of collaborating with the old hands of agriculture, with technologies, which can amplify the result of agriculture. This is what we are doing so far and it was an amazing experience for me, coming from Pakistan.”
