Seminar on Building Sustainable Habits for Spiritual Growth Preaching of Ramadan

SSUET organized a thought-provoking seminar on “Building Sustainable Habits for Spiritual Growth: Preaching of Ramadan” that was attended by a large number of faculty members and students. President of Cardle Welfare Organization, renowned religious scholar Mufti Muhammad Asim Siddiqui was the keynote speaker who highlighted the salient features of Ramzan and Roza.

Addressing the seminar, Mufti Muhammad Asim Siddiqui said that fasting doesn’t mean hunger and thirst. There are two aspects of fasting. Abstaining from the forbidden things during fasting that were forbidden before fasting is the inner aspect of fasting. Abstaining from things that were lawful before fasting, is the external aspect of fasting. If fasting does not bring any change in life, it means fasting is like a body without a soul. Your fast will not break if you eat or drink during the fast by mistake, because Allah forgives your mistake. But if you backbite during a fast, it is unforgettable.

He said that during fasting, you do not eat or drink anything even when you are alone, because it is in your sub-consciousness that Allah is watching. If you just consider that Allah is also watching your deeds and actions, then even after Ramadan, you will enjoy the benefits and blessings of Ramadan. Ramadan is the best time for accountability. The change, you bring in your life for people, exists no longer. Bring change within you considering the eternal life. Think of the future after the resurrection.

Later, there was a question and answer session in which prizes were also distributed. In the end, Mufti Rashid Awan of the Islamic Studies Department offered dua.
