KARACHI, April 14, 2021 – Centre for Guidance, Career Planning and Placement of Sir Syed University of Engineering and Technology organized a 2-day seminar and workshop on Strategy Execution at Sir Syed Tower that was attended by Chancellor Jawaid Anwar, Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Vali Uddin, Registrar Syed Sarfraz Ali, Advisor to Chancellor, Siraj Khilji, Deans, Chairmen, HODs and others. The event was conducted by the SSUET Alumni, the renowned Program Analyst, Business Developer, and Consultant Asadullah Choudhry who is also the Founder and CEO of AUC.
Appreciating the efforts to promote corporate culture, Chancellor Jawaid Anwar said that a company’s values are the core of its culture and vision articulates a company’s purpose, while values offer a set of guidelines on the behaviors and mindsets needed to achieve that vision.
Expressing his views on the occasion, Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Vali Uddin said that the survival of the university depends on how to proceed in the future and how to think differently. Every organization makes plans for the development or betterment of their firm, but plans fail, not because they are bad, instead, plans fail because leaders are busy running the business. And running the business is a different game altogether from delivering the strategy. Developing a strategy requires hard choices and making hard choices is the essence of strategy.
Underscoring the employees’ mindset, he said that people here are reluctant to change, while change is inevitable for success and progress. It is totally a wrong strategy to start many projects at a time without considering available sources and resources. Always pay attention to the complexity of change and the necessity of matching skills and behaviors to organizational goals, ensuring everyone in the organization is moving in the same direction. Success can be achieved by taking initiative, committing to excellence, and building customer value through the right decisions with good teamwork. Aim high, and inspire others.
The event was actually a brainstorming session on how to position Sir Syed University and what actions are needed to make it a prospering university at the international level.
Giving his presentation, Founder CEO, AUC, and business developer and consultant, Asadullah Choudhry, pointed out that 70% of people do not know the difference between vision and mission and most organizations do not know how to implement the strategy. Vision is a goal you set and mission is why the organization exists and what we do. You sell a vision to the investors. You sell mission to the customers and you sell values to yourself. Strategy means winning choices. How to make a choice in an uncertain environment to win now and in the future. A plan of action designed to achieve a long-term or overall aim is strategy. It is checked from the perspective of competition.
He suggested creating business models and to promote project-based working. “You cannot be good in all areas. Add before subtracting. Set minimum performance criteria. Learn the art of delegation. Do not set the time to do the work, set the time to do the right work. Change and update your personality. Sir Syed University can sell its services and research to other organizations. Data science and artificial intelligence are two powerful skills of the university to take advantage of,” he added.
Highlighting the Blue ocean strategy, Mr. Choudhry said that this strategy is the simultaneous pursuit of differentiation and low cost to open up a new market space and create new demand. It is about creating and capturing uncontested market space, thereby making the competition irrelevant.
Asadullah Choudhry engaged the participants in different exercises during a brainstorming session to generate effective ideas and concepts. In the end, certificates were given to the participants. Chancellor Jawaid Anwar along with Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Vali Uddin, Registrar Syed Sarfraz Ali, and Siraj Khilji presented SSUET souvenirs to the guest speaker Asadullah Choudhry.

سرسید یونیورسٹی آف انجینئرنگ اینڈ ٹیکنالوجی کے شعبہ مرکزِ مشاورت و رہنمائی نے ’’حکمت عملی اور اس کا اطلاق “Strategy Execution‘‘ کے موضوع پر دو روزہ ورکشاپ اور سمینار کا انعقاد کیا جس میں سرسید یونیورسٹی کے المنائی، AUC کے بانی و چیف ایگزیکیٹو آفیسر،معروف بزنس ڈیویلپرو کنسلٹنٹ اسد اللہ چودھری نے زیرِ بحث موضوع پر ایک معلوماتی پریزنٹیشن دی ۔ شرکاء میں سرسید یونیورسٹی کے چانسلر جاوید انوار، وائس چانسلر پروفیسر ڈاکٹر ولی الدین، رجسٹرار سید سرفراز علی، شعبہ گائیڈنس سینٹر کے سراج خلجی، ڈین، سربراہانِ شعبہ جات و دیگر شامل تھے ۔
اس موقع پر سرسید یونیورسٹی کے چانسلر جاوید انوار نے باتے کرتے ہوئے کہا کہ نئی سوچ کو پروان چڑھانا چاہئے ۔ نئی ایجادات اور نئی تحقیق معیشت کے استحکام کا باعث بنتی ہے ۔
اپنے خیالات کا اظہار کرتے ہوئے سرسید یونیورسٹی کے وائس چانسلرپروفیسر ڈاکٹر ولی الدین نے کہا کہ جامعہ کی بقا کا انحصار مستقبل کے لاءحہ عمل پر ہوتاہے اور اس بات پرہوتاہے کہ آپ کی سوچ دیگر لوگوں سے کتنی مختلف ہے ۔ ہر ادارہ اپنی بہتری اور کامیابی کے لیے منصوبے بناتا ہے مگروہ ناکام ثابت ہوتے ہیں ۔ ناکامی کی وجہ منصوبے کی خرابی نہیں بلکہ مالکان کی کاروباری مصروفیات ہوتی ہیں ۔ کاروبار اور حکمت عملی چلانے میں بہت بڑا فرق ہے ۔ تبدیلی، ترقی کے لیے بہت ضروری ہے جبکہ ہمارے معاشرے میں لوگ تبدیلی سے گریزاں ہیں ۔ دستیاب وسائل اور ذراءع کو مدنظر رکھے بغیر بیک وقت بہت سارے منصوبے شروع کرنا سراسر غلط حکمتِ عملی ہے ۔ ہمیشہ تبدیلی کی پیچیدگی اور ادارے کے متعین کردہ ہدف سے مطابقت رکھنے والی مہارت اور طرز عمل کی ضرورت پر توجہ دیں اور اس بات کو یقینی بنائیں کہ تمام لوگوں کی کوششوں اور کاوشوں کی سمت ایک ہی ہے ۔ کامیابی کے حصول کے لیے شاندار کارکردگی، اور اچھے ٹیم ورک کے ساتھ درست فیصلے میں پہل کرنا بہت اہمیت رکھتا ہے ۔ اونچی سوچ دوسروں کو متاثر کرتی ہے ۔ نئی سوچ ہی آپ کو دیگر اداروں سے ممتاز کرتی ہے ۔
اس موقع پر بات کرتے ہوئے اسد اللہ چودھری نے کہا کہ 70 فیصد لوگ وژن اور مشن کے فرق کو نہیں سمجھتے اور نہ ہی انھیں حکمت عملی کے اطلاق کے بارے میں معلوم ہے ۔ انھوں نے بتایا کہ وژن ایک مقصد ہے جو آپ نے طے کیا ہے جب کہ مشن کا مطلب ہے کہ ہم کیا کرتے ہیں ۔ وژن سرمایہ لگانے والے کو بیچا جاتا ہے جبکہ مشن کاہدف کسٹمرز ہوتے ہیں اور اقدار آپ کے لیے ہوتی ہیں ۔ ان کا کہنا تھا کہ کارکردگی کا کم سے کم معیار مقرر کریں ۔ اصل چیز کام کرنا نہیں ہے بلکہ ٹھیک کام کرنا ہے ۔ انھوں نے تجویز پیش کی کہ سرسید یونیورسٹی اپنی تحقیق اور تیکنیکی مہارت دیگر اداروں کو فروخت کر کے بہت فائدہ اٹھا سکتی ہے ۔ مگر اس کے لیے ایک بزنس ماڈل بناناہوگا ۔ آپ تمام شعبوں میں اچھی یا یکساں کارکردگی نہیں دکھا سکتے ۔ اپنی شخصیت کو تبدیل کریں اور جدید دور کے تقاضوں کے مطابق اسے اَپ ڈیٹ کرتے رہیں ۔ سرسید یونیورسٹی ڈیٹا سائنسdata science اور آرٹیفیشل انٹیلی جنس artificial intelligence جیسی بہترین مہارت سے بھرپور فائدہ اٹھا سکتی ہے ۔
