کراچی، ۱۱/ستمبر ۰۲۰۲ء ۔ ۔ ۔ اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی آف بہاولپور کے وائس چانسلر انجینئر پروفیسر ڈاکٹر اطہر محبوب نے سرسید یونیورسٹی آف انجینئرنگ اینڈ ٹیکنالوجی کا دورہ کیا اور عالمی تبدیلی کے حوالے سے فکر انگیز گفتگو میں اپنے خیالات کا اظہار کیا ۔ اس موقع پر بات کرتے ہوئے پروفیسر ڈاکٹر اطہر محبوب نے کہا کہ بحران سے بچنے اور اس سے نمٹنے کے لیے نئے طریقے سے سوچنا ہوگا ۔ دنیا اب بدل چکی ہے ۔ ہ میں نئے تقاضوں کو سمجھ کر اس کے مطابق چلنا ہے ۔ ٹیم ورک بہترین نتاءج دیتا ہے ۔ عالمی مسائل کا حل مل جل کر نکالا جاسکتا ہے ۔ کسی ایک مضمون میں مسئلے کا مکمل حل موجود نہیں ہے ۔ اکیلے ہم کچھ نہیں کر سکتے ۔ اچھا لیڈر وہ ہے جو اپنے عمل سے لوگوں کو متاثر کرے کہ ان میں اپنے ملک و قوم کے لیے کچھ کردکھانے کا جذبہ پیدا ہو ۔ عمل سے زندگی بنتی ہے ۔ آپ کا عمل آپ کے کردار کو نمایاں کرتا ہے ۔ دنیا میں اب کسی بھی ایک جگہ کا حادثہ پوری دنیا کو متاثر کر سکتا ہے جیسا کہ ہم نے کووڈ میں دیکھا ۔ معلومات کو پرکھنے کے بعد ہی نتاءج اخذ کئے جاسکتے ہیں ۔
اس موقع پر اظہارِ خیال کرتے ہوئے سرسید یونیورسٹی کے چانسلر جاوید انوار نے کہا کہ سرسید یونیورسٹی نے عالمی وبا کرونا کے تباہ کن اثرات سے محفوظ رکھنے کے لیے فوراََ ایکشن لیتے ہوئے آن لائن لیکچرز اور ورچول کلاسوں کا آغاز کیا ۔ اس ضمن میں اساتذہ کو باقاعدہ ٹریننگ دی گئی تاکہ وہ اپنے آن لائن لیکچرز صحیح اور موثر انداز میں دے سکیں ۔ ۔ جامعہ کو منظم اور جامع طریقے سے چلانے کے لیے کئی پالیسیاں بنائی جاچکی ہیں ۔ کم مائیگی کا ادراک ہی بہتری لانے کا سبب بنتا ہے ۔ سرسید یونیورسٹی ایک نظریاتی یونیورسٹی ہے اور اسکے ساتھ سرسید احمد خان کا نام جُڑا ہے ۔ ان کے مشن کو جاری رکھنا ہماری اخلاقی ذمہ داری ہے ۔
اس موقع پر سرسید یونیورسٹی کے وائس چانسلر پروفیسر ڈاکٹر ولی الدین نے کہا کہ عصری تقاضوں کے مطابق طرز زندگی میں تبدیلی لانی ہوگی ورنہ ہم بہت پیچھے رہ جائیں گے ۔ ترقی کی بنیاد جدت اور نئے خیالات ہیں ۔ آج کا دور ;Artificial Intelligenceکا ہے ۔ جامعات کی ذمہ داری ہے کہ طلباء کی رہنمائی کریں کہ وہ کیسے نئے حالات کے مطابق اپنے آپ کو ڈھال سکتے ہیں اور جدید ٹیکنالوجی سے استفادہ کر سکتے ہیں ۔ ان کی تربیت بہت ضروری ہے ۔ ہ میں تنہائی کے خول سے باہر نکلنا ہوگا اور دیگر لوگوں اور اداروں کے ساتھ مل کر کام کرنا ہوگا تبھی ہم آگے بڑھ سکتے ہیں ۔ مشترکہ کوششیں ہی امید افزا ثابت ہوں گی ۔

KARACHI, September 11, 2020 – Vice Chancellor of The Islamia University of Bhawalpur, Engr. Prof. Dr. Athar Mahboob, visited Sir Syed University of Engineering & Technology (SSUET) and shared his views for the global change. He gave an impressive and informative presentation on how to live with the changing scenario in the world over.
He was of view to encourage the pursuit of learning because knowledge is power. “New ideas and innovation is necessary to make country a better place to live. New ideas carve the new world. Since the world has shrunk to a global village so every crisis now affect the whole world as it was observed in the case of COVID 19. Information should not be taken at its face value but it should be examined to get conclusion. This is an era of Artificial Intelligence but it is under control of human intelligence. We live in a world, which is multidisciplinary where teamwork gives out the outstanding results. One can do nothing single handedly. None of subject has complete solution of the problems. We need to work together and collectively make efforts to address the issue,” he added.
Prof. Dr. Athar Mahmood pointed out that if your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more, you are a leader. Actions speaks louder than words. Actions are more revealing of one’s true character since it is easy to say things and make promises. Positive organizational behavior focuses on the strength, virtues, vitality and resilience of individual and organizers.
Speaking on the auspicious occasion, Jawaid Anwar, Chancellor SSUET said, “Responding to the COVID crisis, Sir Syed University took prompt action and executed the Learning Management System (LMS) at the campus to prepare faculty for online education and to avoid the academic loss of the students. Sir Syed University organized proper Training on Capacity Building of Faculty for Online Lectures/ Virtual Classes (Train the Trainers Program). Sir Syed University is an ideological university and has a name of Sir Syed Ahmed Khan with it. Therefore, it is our moral obligation to honor his name and mission and to accomplish his dreams.”
In his concluding remarks, Prof. Dr. Vali Uddin, Vice Chancellor SSUET, said, “Time now demands to update the system of education focusing on innovation. It is necessary to figure out the new requirements according to the global change, and to update the students with the new environment. Getting out of isolation shell is compulsory to get away with the Status quo. We need to play an effective role in the era of Artificial Intelligence at the face of modern technology. Targets can never be achieved until academic institutions make collective efforts with a sound teamwork in constant changing world.”
