Zero accreditation visit to SSUET was held by the National Agriculture Education Accreditation Council (NAEAC) for the accreditation of the Food Science and Technology Program at SSUET Biomedical Engineering Department.
The members of the visiting team included Secretary NAEAC, Dr. Abdul Ghaffar (Convener of AIC), Prof. Dr. Saghir Ahmed Sheikh (Chairman, Department of Applied Sciences, Hamdard University, Karachi), and Program Coordinator, NAEAC Mr. Abdullah. Zero Visit is required for those academic institutes who are launching a new academic program.
The visit was facilitated by the Chairperson BMED, Dr. Sidra Abid Syed, and Program Coordinator, Dr. Bushra Jabeen Mehdi along with the faculty members. The team verified the lab facilities, infrastructure, and interacted with students and faculty to extract the information from the direct source.
Pre-accreditation/zero visit is basically conducted like pilot testing to check assessment and level of planning designed by the institution before launching a full degree program. Pre-accreditation/ zero visit does not qualify the institution for any interim or conditional accreditation to that specific degree program; it is only an assessment made well before formally assessing/accrediting the full degree program.
