o Presently employed on contract basis as Associate Professor in Civil Engineering Department of Sir Syed University, Karachi. (from July 2012, till date)
o Remained Engaged in Management of Research & Development work at the Council for Works and Housing Research, National Building Research Institute for thirty years (from 1981 to 2011):
o Remained Director General of National Building Research Institute for seven years (from 1989 to 1997).
o Held additional charge of Chairman, Council for Works and Housing Research for ten years (from 1989 to 1994; from 2004 to 2009).
o Worked as Chief Research Officer, CWHR: Responsible for coordination and monitoring of R&D activities of two Research Sections within the domain of Research Division-I (from 1994 to 2011).
o Worked as consultant at Nuclear Technology Inc. in U.S.A for six months (1981).
o Remained as Research Assistant in the Civil Engineering Dept. of University of Kansas, U.S.A. for five years (1975-1980).
o Completed B.E (Civil Engg.) from NED College, Karachi in August 1974.
o Did M.S. (Civil Engg.) in 1977 and Ph.D. (Civil Engineering) in 1981 (with specialization in Materials and Structures), from University of Kansas, U.S.A.
o MS Thesis: “ Finite Element Model of Microscopic Behavior of Plain concrete””
o Ph.D. Dissertation: “Mortar Constituent of Concrete under Cyclic Compression.””
o Did Post-Graduate Diploma in Business Administration from IBA, Karachi.
o Completed National Management Course from Pakistan Administrative Staff College, Lahore.
o Participated in National/International Seminars/Symposia.
o Published twenty four research papers.
o Visited : Bangladesh, China, Germany, Holland, Indonesia, Malaysia, Nepal, Thailand, U.K., U.S.A., Saudi Arabia
o Research Interests: Cement, Ferro-cement, Concrete, Materials, Structures, Low Cost Housing.
