Engr. Nahid Mosharraf

Senior Lecturer

My name is Nahid Mosharraf. I have worked in the position of lecturer for six years in the Civil Engineering department of Sir Syed University of Engineering and Technology. I am recently promoted as a Senior lecturer in the Civil Engineering Department of Sir Syed University of Engineering and Technology, Pakistan.
As a Course Coordinator, I am involved in the development of course outline and lesson plans of Engineering Mechanics and Strength of Material courses according to Outcome Based Education (OBE) System, developing teaching materials and devising or facilitating lectures along with my own video tutorials ,ensure that the course complies with any general requirements specified by the department and ensure that the course is being run in accordance with general departmental guidelines. I can efficiently conduct and schedule virtual classes to undergraduate students on Microsoft Teams, Zooms, Moodle and Qobe.
As a lab-incharge of Engineering Mechanics laboratory, I am an author of Engineering Mechanics Laboratory manual as per Outcome Based Education (OBE) standards. I took in-house training of operating and handling equipment present in the laboratory. It includes;

My research interests include Strategies of road design, Incorporation of Plastic Waste in Bitumen by testing different samples using Marshal Apparatus Test, Soil Investigation of Base Course Soil of Highway constructed from Jamshoro to Sehwan Road, Planning Scheduling of Road Project Using Primavera Software, Design of Pavement Thickness Using Subgrade Soil by Geotechnical Investigation, Utilization of Various Supplementary Cementitious Materials (Fly ash and marble powder) in Concrete by Partial Replacement of the Cement, Design of Pavement thickness by geotechnical investigation of Soil Samples, Finite Element Analysis of conventional and wide based tyres of tractor trolleys on various roads using ABACUS CAE 6.12,Seismic Analysis of Building Structures using Etabs software.

-Master’s in Transportation Engineering from NED University of Engineering and Technology with 3.64 CGPA
-Bachelor’s in Urban and Infrastructure Engineering From NED University of Engineering and Technology secured Gold Medal with 84.47%
-Intermediate from Saint Joseph Govt. College For Women with 74.81%
-Matriculation from Progressive Academy School secured 19th Merit Position in Karachi Board with 90.71%
