According to Flora Lewis “Learning another language is not only learning different words for the same things, but learning another way to think about things” We at the Department of English uphold the same vision and aspire to inculcate a spirit of lifelong learning. Through our updated curriculum we wish to develop learner’s autonomy and make our students proficient communicators, successful negotiators, and competent professionals.

Vision & Mission

Vision:
To instill the students with appropriate competence in theoretical as well as practical usage of language and research in their academic and professional lives with an addition of a keen sense of social responsibility and empathy in their personal and professional lives as proposed by Sir Syed Ahmed Khan.

Mission:
To strengthen the knowledge of students in a broader comprehension of language, communication, and research, along with valuing the tools of critical thinking, while keeping their social and moral responsibility aligned with the Aligarh spirit.
