Chairperson Message
The Department of Electrical Engineering was established in September 2014 and the first batch of MS in Electrical Engineering was enrolled in Spring 2022 after getting NOC from HEC. The department runs under FoECE (Faculty of Electrical and Computer Engineering.
The curriculum of MS Electrical Engineering is in accordance with HEC standards. The Department has experienced faculty, well-equipped lab, and classroom facilities. The students will be able to gain advanced knowledge and research exposure in the areas like Electrical Power Systems, Electrical Instrumentations, Electrical Power Flow, Electrical Machine Design, and Renewable Energy Systems.
Admission Eligibility:
– To become eligible for admission in the Master of Science in Electrical Engineering Program, an applicant must have completed sixteen years of schooling or 4-years of education after HSSC or equivalent (minimum 124 credit hours), in relevant areas from HEC recognized degree awarding institutes, with following minimum CGPA of 2.5 or 60% marks (1st Division).
– The SSUET MS Admission Test must be passed prior to admission to the MS Program.
– Valid result of NTS GAT General Test with a minimum 50% cumulative score can be accepted in lieu of admission test.
– An interview must be cleared that shall be conducted by the departmental Postgraduate Admission Committee.
Duration:
The students are expected to complete the program in a minimum of two years and a maximum of four years.
Degree Completion Requirements:
To become eligible for the award of MS degree, a student must have successfully completed courses and/or thesis totaling at least 30 credit hours and have earned a CGPA of at least 2.5 on a scale of 4.0.
The program is designed to produce graduates of intellectual standard and caliber to meet the current and future needs both in Pakistan and internationally by contributing the theoretical foundations and critical analysis of application areas in the field of Energy and Power. The program is prepared to provide the students with a solid and applied knowledge of basic sciences, mathematics, and engineering. The program is based on the fundamentals of Electrical Engineering with additional courses in power systems.
The curriculum incorporates uniform requirements for the M.S. program that apply to all students in the department regardless of their area of study. The curriculum allows flexibility in the selection of courses by students and their faculty advisers, in an effort to promote and encourage multi-disciplinary education and research.
